Hi Marjorie--
Sorry, I don’t know who wrote that book. There’s another author named Pamela Simpson who people confuse me with. Could that have been her book?
Good luck with your search,
Patricia

HELP!
I READ A BOOK THAT WAS SO WONDERFULL. IT WAS ABOUT A MARSHALL FROM OLD TIME THAT GOT CAUGHT IN A EARTHQUAKE AND ENDED UP IN UNITED STATES PRESENT TIME. HE HAD BEEN CHASING A CONVICT AND A YOUNG GIRL IN PRESENT TIME WAS CHASING THE "GRANDSON" OF THAT CONVICT.
IT WAS SO FUNNY TO SEE HOW HE REACTED TO PRESENT DAY.
I READ THIS SO MANY YEARS AGO, BUT I COULD HAVE SWORN IT WAS WRITTEN BY YOU(WHICH I DON’T FIND IN YOUR BIO).
I THINK IT WAS CALLED OUT OF TIME.
LET ME KNOW IF YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS BOOK.
THANKS, MARJORIE

Dear Mr. G--
Thank you for your kind praise. It’s brooding, caustic, characters that often make the best kind of heroes.
Warmest regards,
Patricia

ever since my recent participation in a bone marrow transplant operation, i’ve had much time to appreciate and re-read the entire oeuvre of artist P. Simpson.
many consider me to be a caustic and brooding man, and prone to type occassionally in all CAPS, but not in this post however. today, I’m merely an appreciative fan.
My admiration to Ms. Simpson -- truly a talent.

Hi Kaffie--
I’m so glad you enjoyed Lord of Forever! It has a special place in my heart, too, as its setting--Charleston--is a magical city. You can probably find a copy on Amazon.com. It is, unfortunately out of print at this time.
Thank you for writing!

I read Lord of Forever, and believe me, I have not been able to put it down since. Now it is torn and I could not get another to buy.
How can I get another copy of this very original and exhilarating novel?
Thanks for the work.

Hi Sheri--
I can’t help but see a strange parallel in your life--if in fact you have two sets of parents--in the way you have two residences as well. I have a small inkling about what you may be going through, as two of my critique partners and one of my good friends from college were adopted, and finding their birth parents and discovering the ’story of why’ was a driving force in their lives.
As to my books, they are fiction, always have a paranormal element, and are usually driven by something I read about in the paper. In my first book, Whisper of Midnight, a ghost manifests through a Macintosh computer and a hologram program. Midnight Moon is about a guy searching for his roots who gets a bone marrow transplant and develops traits of a Native American shaman. The Lost Goddess is about a plot to wreck the Aswan Dam in Egypt by using the supersonic vibration produced by an unusual child. Things like that. Many of my books are set in the Seattle area, as I lived there for many years. I set one book in Charleston, SC, when I fell in love with the place during a visit. That’s Lord of Forever, still one of my favorites. And now that I live in San Francisco, I use the Bay Area as my setting.
I am presently working on a novel called Spellbound and in the process of developing the third book in the Forbidden Tarot series, which I am calling The Oracle. All the tarot books are based on the aspects of a single card, and how those aspects affect the main characters. This is probably more than you wanted to know!
Like you, I have moved a lot recently--four times in the last four years because of my husband’s biotech job. Being unsettled is hard on most writers, but I am at last feeling like I can get back to work. I wish you luck in your search for your roots but also know that there are people in the world who are part of a person’s soul family and have nothing to do with biology. And those people are the ones who love you and understand the most. I hope you have some friends of the spirit that will support you through your journey. Take care, and thank you for writing.

Please send more information regarding your books. I live in two states, Milwaukee, WI and San Francisco, CA, and travel back and forth. Of particular interest was your essay, "Follow Your Bliss." I am trying to follow this as well, as I am trying to find out who I really am, and if I am adopted or not. Too many things have happened that would lead me to believe that adoption really is a possibility. At the University of San Francisco, I took a course entitled, "Life Transitions," and Carol Miller, Ph.D led this very interesting class, which correlates to those things you wrote about in your essay. I have lived all over the world, and would be happy to share my experiences with you. Please send me information on all of the books you have written. I have also moved several times, now, as mentioned, in the status of dual-residency.
Sincerely,
Sheri Singh-Minhas

Hi Everyone--
It’s mid-August, and I’m finally settling into my new home in California. My characters are starting to complain that it’s been too long since they’ve had a new scene--so I’m hard at work on beginning my next WIP - Spellbound, while the plot for The Oracle simmers on the back burner for a while.

I found your essay on "following your bliss" very encouraging. I started out on this path almost ten years ago and I am still hard at work with this goal. When I started this I didn’t know how long it would take and still the finish line is far ahead. Anyway, your essay (http://www.patriciasimpson.com/bliss.html) encouraged me to keep at it even though the goal at this point is still elusive. I still believe that I made the right decision back then to find and follow my bliss, even though now at this time, it appears to be the farthest thing from sight. Thanks for sharing your story!

I’m new to this genre. But judging by the reviews it’s something I’m gonna try. I’m always on the lookout for new things and The Dark Lord seems a good place to start. Or not? Should I read the other books first to get an understanding of The Dark Lord?

Just picked up The Haunting of Brier Rose at a yard sale. I don’t normally read romance books, but it sounded spooky so immediately piqued my interest. :) Plus, the main gentleman thus far reminds of Mr. Rochester ala Timothy Dalton (whom I happen to rather enjoy as Mr. Rochester ;). I do like the idea of the intersection of paranormal and romance as well, but had never found my way into the genre as of yet. I will be looking for other books by Ms. Simpson.
literary_goth
I agree--TD made an excellent Mr. Rochester, who is one of my favorite heroes in literature. It can’t be helped if Mr. Rochester shows up once in a while in my books! :->--Patricia
